The CE-CERT Book Club & Coaching Program (Components for Enhancing Clinicians Engagement with Reducing Trauma) is based on the work of Brian Miller and focuses on equipping therapists with strategies for wellness and career sustainability. This bi-weekly program is particularly helpful for those interested in preventing burnout and managing secondary traumatic stress.
Overview of CE-CERT Book Club and Coaching:
Experiential Engagement: You will learn how to fully engage in the present moment and the therapeutic process to maintain effectiveness and focus during emotionally challenging sessions.
Managing Rumination: We’ll teach cognitive strategies to help you manage repetitive negative thinking patterns, which can contribute to emotional exhaustion and burnout.
Intentional Narrative: This component focuses on helping you develop a coherent and meaningful narrative around your professional experiences. This process allows you to constructively process and integrate your experiences as a therapist.
Reducing Emotional Labor: You’ll learn techniques to minimize the emotional strain associated with empathetic engagement, helping you maintain professional boundaries while providing high-quality care.
Parasympathetic Recovery Strategies: We’ll explore practices that activate the parasympathetic nervous system to promote recovery and resilience, including deep breathing exercises and mindfulness techniques.
