Hey, I’m Dana.
Hello, I’m Dana Cogshell, Community Coordinator at ARISE Counseling Center and Training Institute. I am passionate about fostering connections within our community and ensuring individuals and families feel welcomed and supported as they begin their mental health journey. In my role, I focus on creating a seamless and compassionate intake experience, serving as a community liaison, and developing workshops and facilitating groups to promote mental health education and growth.
My background & approach
With a strong foundation in mental health counseling and a dedication to community connection, I approach my work with warmth, openness, and a genuine desire to make mental health resources accessible and approachable. I believe in the power of education and collaboration to create meaningful change and strive to build strong partnerships that benefit individuals and the community.
In my group facilitation and workshop development, I emphasize a humanistic, strength-based approach that encourages participants to harness their unique strengths, build resilience, and foster personal growth. My goal is to create safe, inclusive spaces where people feel valued, heard, and empowered to navigate challenges and build connections with others.
Drawing on my experience as an early childhood classroom assistant, peer mentor, and graduate residence director, I bring a deep understanding of the importance of developmentally appropriate, empathetic support. Whether coordinating care, leading groups, or working with the community, I aim to provide a welcoming environment where everyone feels seen and supported.
